Tech Day...

Hello bloggers!

So it’s day 2 in Edinburgh!  Another early start today (especially for our actress Rosie Wyatt who had a 7am early morning run!) and it was tech day!

As with all tech rehearsals there is never enough time but the nabokov crew were fantastic and the day was a success.  So after putting the show into the venue today we thought now would be a great time to give you a sneak peak of the design…

In BUNNY Luton is a backdrop that shapes the events of the play and the character of Katie herself, and Hannah Clark (the designer) has ingeniously brought the town on stage. The set is a large white screen at the back of the stage upon which illustrations of Luton are back projected.

And here is a preview of how the drawings have turned out…

Jenny Turner, our brilliant illustrator, has picked out the important locations in the story and artistically     recreated them in a very honest and creative way.

Our fantastic video designer, Ian Galloway, then animated the drawings so that Luton moves behind Katie as her story moves through the town, keeping it an alive and constant part of the show.

The illustrations looked very exciting in the tech today and they bring a unique quality to the show - we can’t wait to see what the Edinburgh audience thinks of them!

Well it’s 7:50pm, we’re in Edinburgh, and it’s time to party!  Watch this space for part 5 of our Edinburgh blog coming tomorrow!
