Arts Club - First Acts announced

Two and a half weeks to go until the undisputed heavyweight of artistic happenings anywhere, ever. And as promised, announced exclusively first right here on the nabokov blog, these are the first few acts confirmed...

IS EVERYONE OK? by Joel Horwood
The world premiere of nabokov's brand new show. Catch it at The Arts Club first before it heads out on tour to festivals nationwide. A dazzling tour-de-force blurring the boundaries between theatre and stand-up, Is Everyone Ok? is a sixty-minute joyride for the lost and bewildered. Three people trying to work out if they’re doing okay or if everything’s gone to shit - people who can only connect from behind a microphone. Three stories about us, now, and how terrified we are. A brand new theatrical experience - IS EVERYONE OKAY? defines a generation’s anger, fear and frustrations in a brutally funny, brutally honest combination of explosive stand-up comedy and stand-up tragedy.

Sound_of_rum Music
Officially the hottest new band in the UK. In less than a year since they formed, Sound of Rum have played Glastonbury, Big Chill, Secret Garden Party, Solfest, and Electric Picnic. Now, with their debut album Balance proving hot property, they find themselves regulars on Radio One and tipped for the big time. Fronted by doyenne of the spoken word scene Excentral Tempest, Sound Of Rum bring their unique sound to the Arts Club. Catch them now before they hit big.

Innocent_village_fete_2008_086 Comperes

Two of the most exciting and sought after performance poets in the UK. As solo artists and members of poetry collective Aisle 16, they have performed gigs and won slams across the UK and around the world. Having previously played shorts and compered our tent at The innocent Village Fete, we're thrilled to welcome Chris and Ross to the Arts Club where they'll be performing as well as leading the charge.
