Present : Tense / Eleven

The toughest creative challenge in town is back at Southwark Playhouse on Sunday 19 April 2009 for a second outing in its all new guise.

Present : Tense challenges the UK's top artistic talent to tackle the hottest topic of the moment in just seven days, only now with an added twist. We've asked a host of cross-disciplinary artists to collaborate. And here's the frankly mouth-watering line-up:

** nabokov's co-Artistic Director George Perrin working with director Charlotte Bennett, lighting designer Tim Deiling and playwrights Tom Morton Smith and In-Sook Chappel

** Director Tara Wilkinson working with playwright Leo Richardson and choreographer Aline David

** Spoken word superstar [Verb] Swish working with musician and poet Sh'maya

** One of the UK's leading physical theatre companies Tangled Feet (Director Kat Joyce and performers Mario Christofides, Sara Templeman, Fiona Watson, Abi Hood, Jonathan Ellicot and Luke Gledsdale) working with musician from The Clock Opera Guy Connelly.

The groups meet this Sunday to select the most momentous story on the news agenda. They then have seven days to create a piece of work that responds to the story they choose before it is performed live exactly one week after they began.

Throughout the week you can follow their progress and post comments on the present : tense blog where the artists will be posting daily updates. And on Twitter.

Meantime, quick, book your ticket!
