Following its triumphant debut in May, our extravaganza of theatre, music, comedy, poetry, film and lots more returns on Saturday 13 September 2008 at the awe-inspiring Village Underground.

SLEEVE NOTES and KILL JOY A crack team comprising playwrights DUNCAN MACMILLAN and GARY OWEN, designers Paul Burgess and Simon Daw, and nabokov artistic director George Perrin have been locked away in the studio creating a breathtaking installation inspired by Duncan and Gary’s exquisite short plays Sleeve Notes and Kill Joy, through which you can wander, wide-eyed, while listening to the plays.

DOCKERS MC Fresh from supporting Kate Nash on tour, the most exciting new act on the spoken word circuit brings her inimitable brand of ‘floetry’ to the Arts Club.

BRIDGETTE AMOFAH Lead singer of Oi Va Voi destined for greatness sings soaring, spine-tingling soul and funk backed by her full band.

THE TOY HEARTS Exhilarating bluegrass from this internationally acclaimed five-piece family band from Brum.

TOM DEACON The 2007 winner of Chortle's Student Comedian, Amused Moose New Act finalist and star of The Comedy Zone in Edinburgh this summer, Tom has burst onto the comedy scene drawing all eyes his way with undeniable stage presence and the kind of gags and slick timing that assures him greatness.

We're pleased to present: The nabokov Arts Club – an all new extravaganza of theatre, music, comedy, poetry, film and lots more in a vast, atmospheric Victorian warehouse in the heart of Shoreditch.

Just like shorts, The nabokov Arts Club will showcase the best new work, first, from the most exciting new artists anywhere. But with 5,000²ft of floor space to fill, we’ll also be adding the biggest names in the business to the heady mix. Expect explosive new plays, side-splitting comics, stunning cinematography, high-voltage poetics, rabble-rousing live bands, superstar DJs and lashings of atmosphere. Plus booze, food, dancing and general tomfoolery till 2am. Join us in the fantastical, skylight studded Village Underground for the undisputed heavyweight champion of artistic happenings anywhere, ever.
