A bomb explodes on Bond Street. A liberal activist and her adult daughter are injured, bringing sexual and political tensions to their dysfunctional family which are increased by the arrival of the indignant prodigal stepson. Camarilla is a heartfelt look at the complex workings of family life with zealous political overtones that can appear like a liberalist rant at times. Strong performances and an intelligent, relevant plot make this a worthwhile play to see, asking how well we really know those close to us.
