Continuing through 2009, shaken-up and revitalised in a thrilling new guise.
Present : Tense returns to Southwark Playhouse on
Sunday 27 September, still challenging the UK's top artistic talent to tackle the hottest topic of the moment in just seven days, only now with an added twist.
Update: The Present : Tense / Twelve artists gathered upstairs at The Crown and Two Chairmen in Soho Sunday evening to rip through a pile of newsprint and select the most important news story of the moment. They decided on:
Gang
of youths tormented mother who killed herself and her daughter
Others on the shortlist included the ongoing case of gender test athlete
Caster
Semenya and the botched execution that has
re-opened
the debate over the death penalty in the US.
The artists now have just seven days to create a response to this story before their work is performed live at Southwark Playhouse next Sunday 27 September at 8pm.
The artists will be posting news of their progress
on
the blog throughout the week so check back for updates and be
sure to
book
your tickets for Sunday before they're gone.
